Auto window,wiper, cab lights outage

My driver side window has stopped working occasionally. Now neither window works. I lost my wiper power for awhile, then it came back, now it's also gone. My overhead lights are out. I've also lost cruise control. It may have shorted since the plastic button covers look melted. Where do you start? All fuses seem ok. Help!

Probably GEM or BCM behind the radio can't remember what ford calls it all manufacturers call it something different. But basically it controls the electrical functions of the vehicle including auto window down the battery saver relay and dome light basically its the brain of the electronics. If its bad it can cause sporadic failures in the system. As widespread as the problems are and since you checked fuses already that would be the next bet. may be able to find a cheap one at a yard to test just make sure the donor has power locks and same smiler features as yours, as well as same generation 1998-2000.

GEMs don't usually go bad. Wiring is more likely. Recheck the fuses again one by one.

Especially check these fuses on the drivers side of the dash at least for looseness in the socket.

Fuse 10 (7.5 Amp) Hot in Run (This fuse also powers the cruise control servo).
Fuse 20 (7.5 Amp) Hot in Acc or Run
Fuse 25 (7.5 Amp) Hot in Start
Fuse 28 (7.5 Amp) Hot at all times.

True it is rare but still possible.

Thanks for the input. I just drove the truck and everything was working for one minute. Now nothing works again. I think it could be a wiring issue, maybe a mouse problem?
