not sure what year truck you have but they are under the dash mounted on the steering column. its white. you turn the dial and it moves the needle.
i have a 2000 so do i remove the steering column shroud or the lower dash
nope its under the dash. you should see it without removing any panels if i am remembering right
you have to take the lower panel off and the steel reinforcement behind it off to get to the dial......when I get on my computer I will post the picture I took of it while works g on swapping in the manual trans.....
The dial is directly on the bottom of the column.....if you find the shift indicator cable and follow it you will find the dial..... |
thanks so i have to take off lower dash and the steel panel behind it right??

Here's a pic of the indicator cable thumbwheel with the knee bolster and trim panel removed. It's the black wheel in the white bracket, dead center.
If you knew in advance exactly where it is, it would not be that hard to reach under the dash and find it by feel without removing the bolster. It could even be adjusted that way. However, it might be hard to do that the first time around. https://publish.comcast.net/rpath/j2...UrRANQV_CZMsZ/ |
so how do i adjust it do i turn it by hand
Yes. It is a thumbwheel and you turn it until the gear indicator is where you want it.
thanks ill have to try that later
