Hi!
I have a Ranger 4.0lv6 4x4 2001. My backup light/reverse light not working. I have no 12v power when I test cables.
Is there a specific fuse or is it the switch on the tranny? Witch switch fit my modell? I live in Sweden and I have yet only find the one for an manual transmission.

Cab fuse box, #2 10amp, but also used for blower fan relay so if heater fan is working fuse is OK

Manual or automatic transmission?
They used different back up light switches

 

Blower fan is working.
It's a automatic transmission

 

On drivers side of transmission is the DTR(digital transmission range) sensor, its actually just a switch, lol
Its on the shift arm
When you move the shifter contacts in the switch change positions, one set of contacts is the 12v for Reverse Lights

Unplug the DTR Connector
There will be a Purple/Orange stripe wire, this wire is from fuse #2, it should have 12volts with Key on/engine off
There will be a Black/pink wire, this is the OUT to Reverse lights
If you jumper these 2 wires together Reverse lights should come on, if Purple wire had 12v
If so then replace DTR switch, has bad Reverse Light contacts

If still not on then wire to the rear is bad..........somewhere, there is a connector on drivers side near rear bumper that has ALL the tail light wires, Black/pink is the Reverse Light 12v at that connector
