Windows roll up when you lock the your truck mod?

Is this even possible? I thought it would be cool to have because sometimes my windows are still down when I turn off the truck and it would be nice to just be able to walk away and lock the truck and have the windows automatically roll up, comes stock on some cars I think? Did a search on the website and didn't see anyone talk about this yet. Maybe rwenzing or n3elz would know if it can be done, or where to start. Does anybody else think that this is a good idea?

I think you would need to start with the auto up mod for the windows. After that you maybe able to use the power locks to trigger the auto up. Pending some electronic tom foolery.

My car does something similar- you can stick the key in the door to lock it and the windows and sunroof will close, if you do the opposite the windows will open. I think there is a mod to where i can use the keyfob, that would be awesome.

it can be done with a few relays

you would have to tap into the factory alarm arm wire which would send a pulse via a relay to the window up wire of the motor.

This sounds promising along with the other ideas. Does anybody have a link or "how to" for the automatic up mod that I can go check out? Then I could maybe hook up a relay to the locks and viola.

Checked out his page and all I can say is WOW! My head kind of hurts from all the info I just learned. Think I will be going down to the local junk yard looking for the Tauras/Sable relays this week. And attempting the auto up mod sometime in the next few. Thanks for the help

there is away that you can control the windows if you have an after market alarm. there is a thing that is already wired up and everything, you just have to buy it and hook it into the correct wires.

me personally i have like 6 outputs on my alarm, and only use 1 for my aux back up lights. if i ever get around to it i will have it so i can open and close the windows from that.

I guess you would have to leave your truck unlocked. Around here the weather changes so quickly that it's a very bad idea to leave your windows cracked anyway.

Interesting, and another viable option, thanks

i'm sure if you're in the process of installing something like a viper alarm kit you could also figure out how to do this while installing the kit

well you need a dei 530T to do what you want. you can integrate it into the factory keyless but it is easier with the aftermarkets. you can do the 1 touch window down, roll up on arm and then vent or all the way down via remote. i hate installing them because some are easy and some you have to sit there and tweak them for a while. i have spent the better part of 2 hours tweaking one on a volvo.

I have this option on my truck. I originally just wanted remote power windows, but when i got my alarm hooked up they did this for me. Just arm the alarm and the windows go up

I completely forgot alarms can do this. Maybe because i don't have one. I have already done the auto up mods.

I still want/need an alarm.
