Best Muffler for exhaust...POST UP!
didnt realli kno where to post this but if its not in the right spot please move.
alright well i hacked my old exhaust off since it was fallin apart anyway (ive got a 4.0 ohv) two questions first i want it to sound mean, obnoxious, and like a v8 if possible. and im not too sure wat muffler to run since ill be makin my own..ive listened to alot of clips on here but i want somethin loud...any ideas? second question i had im gonna prolly run headers and since ive got 4 cats if i just run two high flows wud that be enough or am i still gonna have to run 4? i thought mayb of running a race muffler on it but i figured it wouldnt pass inspection im think either 2.5 or 3in dumped just past the cab

Here's a clip of mine.....(ps...lots of tire noise.)

My set up is 2.5" cat to muff, then dump. 3" is way too big any of our trucks. I even think 2.5 is too big...i should've gone 2.25.

Tomorrow morning if I can get up nice and early.. i will take another video of my exhaust setup.. I have one recorded about a day after it was put on. now its been a few thousand miles, and I've got a CAI installed.. sounds nice and purty.. and mean when its revved up on the move. Best sound by far you can get is on the downshift slowing down at a light or stop sign.. everyone stops to listen to the nice engine braking and that awesome sounding burble exhaust brake type sound.

Closest you can get with a 3.0, is to buy some new rockers.. some headers.. cut some out-pipes with a hydraulic switch to let you switch from the exhaust to the rear, to some cutouts on the side of the engine bay to exhaust right outside the front sides of the engine bay. Thats about the best sound you can get out of a V6 minus boring and changing all the insides of the engine.
