Blue corners
Blue corners
I was over at a buds house and he gave me some extra bulbs from his honda that he had no use for. They are the same size as the bulbs in my corner/parking lights but they are blue. Are there any laws against putting blue bulbs in parking lights? I see people with blue headlights all the time. Just wondering because 1. I think it would look nice and 2. I dont want to be pulled over for something as stupid as a corner light.
Oh, and I have wired them up to blink with the blinkers via the blinker mod. Donno if it makes a difference. And they are also white.

Think this through.
Who has flashing blue lights? Typically followed by flashing red lights.
I dont' know the laws in Texas but odds are flashing blue lights would be illegal.
By the way do you really want to put something on your truck that was cast off from a honda. Where is your pride?

Are they ACTUALLY blue? OR 'bright white/hyperwhite/etc??? That's the deciding factor.
I ran blue colored glass, that lit up bright white for the longest time. Never had an issue. BUt...if they light up blue, you've got a huge issue.

If they just stay on and dont flash they will probably be legal, but as soon as they flash, that's a fix it ticket.
Ontario says flashing blue lights are imitating snow removal and police vehicles, yet a steady blue light is perfectly legal, such as a corner light.

These(signal and corner):

Light up bright white....not blue. THAT is the deciding factor on the legality of using these. In Oregon, front signals can be either White or Amber, so blinker mod a-okay for me here with white lights.
If they actually light up blue, that is illegal in all 50 states to my knowledge.

Flashing blue lights are for emergency vehicles only in ALL 50 states. Blinkers included.
Well they are colored blue bulbs. So I don think they will light up white, lol. Well now that I have that ruled out, any suggestions on what I can use them for (other than target practice, lol).
194's are very common! there everywhere on your truck, your glove box, your licence plate lights, they'd work in your cab and cargo lights but wouldnt be that bright

I like that idea. What would I have to do to it? Would I have to sand off all the green stuff and repaint it blue like in the LED mod? And about how many would I need?

In Texas, only white or amber lights can be visible from the front of the vehicle, except for emergency vehicles. Ask me how I know. I ran Blue lights in my back up lights on one of my cars, but the were never on on the street.
