Fuel Filler Neck Leaking

My fuel filler neck on my '99 flairside is leaking and needs to be replaced. Do I have to remove the bed to do this?

Is there a write-up available anywhere?

Where is the best place to get this part?

Are the necks different for the flairside and the regular bed?

Thanks.

I don't think you have to remove the bed. I never hear of any of the BL people taking the bed off to put the extension in.

Haven't seen one but i could be wrong.

I would try from LMC first. I'm pretty sure they have it.

I would say so because the bed side on a flairside is closer to the tank than a fleetside bed.

Thanks.
Rember i am just putting this info out there. I have never replaced mine or anyone else.

Thanks for the reply RangerNDog...I will check that site.

I have heard on this site that the way to do is take off the bed...I was hoping I could avoid that.

I just took my bed off, it was a pain in the butt cause I had to cut off all the bed bolts 6 total. The fuel filler neck is held in place by three little bolts, you should be able to undo them, and possibly get it off from the tank. Is it leaking from the metal part, or the rubber hose?

I have a leak coming from where the hose meets the neck as well as seepage through the neck itself. I think this is also the reason why the truck is throwing the code for evap leak.

I checked that sight with no luck. Is the dealer my only option?

Junkyard?? I have been looking as well(not that hard though), my 93 is not leaking from the neck, its leaking from the top of the tank where the neck connects...I'm guessing the seal is bad, but it could be the neck at that point and not the seal itself...But my filler neck is all rotted looking, so I need a new one of those as well. I just parked it until I can devote some time to taking the bed off and actually seeing what the problem is.

And I plan on taking the bed off to do all this...pretty simple if you have a body lift like I do though. If you have planned on body lifting your truck, this would be the time to do it.

When I put my BL on, mine now leaks around the extension, so whatever you find out about fixing the leak may be of some benefit to me as well.

I got a neck from a junkyard. my filler neck has a kink in it from where I did my body lift and put my extension too close to the elbow.

I don't thknk you have to remove the bed to do it, but if not you might need to drop the gas tank. The time I needed to get into the tank it was a lot easier to take off the bed. Did have to use a pipe on the ratchet with the torx bit to squeal those six bolts out though, they were tight.
