Need Help!
Hey guys,
So Friday, I went to start my truck (to go to my college graduation) and it acted like it was dead, I then tried again and it started. So I pulled out and started to drive away, and it shut off. So I restarted it and parked it. At the end of the day when I got back home I tried to start it again I thought it might be corrosion on the connections or something, so I poured some coke and cleaned off the battery terminals, and it started like there was no problem. Drove it to a party for about an hour and a half, then went to leave and it was dead, wouldnt start at all. So I got it towed home. After all this I was convinced it was the alternator, because I bought a brand new battery less than a year ago, but had my alternator rebuilt, instead of buying a new or reman. So I just bought a new alternator, installed it and it started right away without jumping it. But it was idling really rough, so I turned it off and checked all of the fluids.Started it again and it was idling and running normally. But when I give it gas it wont go over 3000 rpms, and it started jumping. Havnt tried to drive anywhere.
Any thoughts? Did I blow a fuse maybe? Last July I had the cam sensor replaced, is it related to that? What should I do to check? I dont have a code reader.
Help thanks.
