My driver side window seems to have an intermittent problem, sometimes when i press the button to roll it down it doesnt do anything but click inside the dash, but when it does this, if I give it a good thump on the door panel right above the door handle it will start working again... Also when it does work it rolls down very slowly/weak, I have to help it with my hand.. it rolls up a little better, under its own power, but is also still intermittent.

There are so many components I dont know where to start. What do you guys think the problem could be, or where I should start looking? Im on a tight budget so I cant afford to just throw parts at it....

 

Window motor/ Regulator. is it working less and less over time?

 

Yes it has gotten worse over time...

Is the window regulator and window motor the same thing? or two different parts?

I mean I can understand the lack of power being the motor, but im wondering if the inttermittent problem is due to a short or a bad switch?

 

Could also be a swtich, I'd try that first.
the second question, They are different parts, but a pain in the *** to get separate.
