HELP

Ok here is the deal I have a friend that has given me a 95 ranger xlt reg cab 5 speed it has some issues but nothing major runs just fine. 1 issue that I would like to fix is that my gas gauge is always reading E (saw a post about the float fix will do it and see if it works) but also my odometer dose not work. Correct me if i am wrong but should I just replace the cluster and be done with it and also what clusters can I use, I have read all sorts of stuff (this will work and this will not) just kinda looking for a straight answer and also where is the best place to get one (e-bay, dealer, junk yard, forums....) what is a good price and how do i know if it works before I buy it?
Thanks in advance,
Marcos

On the fuel gauge problem you can pull the gauge sending unit wire and try testing the circuit before buying/pulling the unit from the tank to ensure the float is the problem.

If its only your odometer that's not working in the cluster then you'd be better off just picking up a new/used cluster. As to which clusters will work, read through this link Ranger Instrument dash Cluster Swap Question
