PCM reprogram
I'm trying to reprogram my PCM from 4x2 to 4x4 (I have my reasons). I have the dealer tool available, as well as the VIN # for the PCM program that I want. The hardware # for my PCM and the one for the new VIN# are the same (MP2-112), but the part #s are different.
Is anyone able to save me a call to motorcraft service, and tell me if my PCM will take the new flash?
There ought to be a guide to changing PCM programs...

have you tried to enter the as-built data in it yet? write down the current calibration and if it wont accept the one you want to put in then you can re-enter the old calibration. thats what i did to tylers truck when we did the 4x4 swap on his so i could program the tire size to be closer to 33

BTW, will I have any problem with PATS? Once I reflash the PCM with the new VIN#/program, will it retain the old PATS key programming, or will it go to the new one? If it goes to the PATS code of the new VIN, will I still be able to use the dealer tool if I don't have the key with the new programming, i.e. will not be able to use the tool further? WIll it just keep the old VIN# with the new 4x4 programming? DId Tyler's PCM keep the same VIN# with the new PCM calibration?

Ok, so I tried to do this, but I got lost in the software I guess
Here is the As-Built Data for my truck now:
Label Data:
EEC-V MP2-112 3G15 NBG2
3L5A-12A650-NC G
6BXM112A67-AD 32533-92
As-Built Data:
Vehicle Data: 3300 2C8B FFE9
PCM Module
PCM 1 FF52 FFFF D232
PCM 2 0266 10FF FF88
PCM 3 FFFF FFFF FF0E
PCM 4 FFFF FFFF FF0F
PCM 5 FFFF FFFF FF10
PCM 6 FFFF FFFF FF11

Here's what I think it needs to be for a 4x4:
As-Built Data:
Vehicle Data: 21FF 2C9F FFEA
PCM Module
PCM 1 FF52 FFFF AC0C
PCM 2 0266 10FF FD86

The module programming is there for tire size, axle ratio, etc., but there isn't anything about 4x4 vs 4x2. You can look for and reprogram a 4x4 module, but the manual transfer case trucks don't use one, so I'm not exactly sure what you are talking about.
Are you talking about reprogramming the PCM using a 4x4 PCM part #?
