emergency! i have no dash lights

emergency! i have no dash lights

please help me. i have no dash lights. 96 ranger xlt. the only lights i dont have are the dash lights that turn on when the lights are on. i do have the lights for 2 aux gauges running from the hvac controls. this setup has been working for a while now and tonight they went out. what fuses do i need to check or relays or what? please help!

look in your owners manual in the back it has all the fuses you need

i check that and looked through all the fuses... they looked clean

Looks can be deceiving. Try swapping out the dash fuse with a new fuse.

Only 3 things I can think of to cause this:

1. Blown fuse
2. Blown bulbs
3. Shorted/open wire

Check fuses 3 and 7 in the dash panel.
Check maxi fuse 8 in the distribution box under the hood.
Check ground G103 under the hood on the driver side inner fender about halfway back.

thanks ill be sure to replace these fuses and check that ground.

hit the dash. lol. worked for me. although maybe i should check that stuff out.

which relay would have to do with these lights? i think it's a weak relay so i want to replace it so they dont go back off.
