For starters, YES I searched. I didn't find a satisfactory answer to my questions.

I want a set of HID light's for my headlights. What I'm lost on is to go with the Bi-Xenon where the solenoid move the bulb, the high and low kit that has an HID low and Halogen high, or just a straight low kit.

I've heard about problems with the Bi-xenon kits and the solenoid breaking.

I'm also trying to figure out who to order from. I want to get them from eBay to save some money.

Well I know that I want 4300k because I want the best visibility not color.

What are the prices like for ignitedperformance?

EDIT: Visited the site. All they carry is the HID low Halogen HIGH kits. I'm still not sure if I want them.

A buddy of mine got the HID low only H4's for is Acura and it was $250 CDN. dunno if this helps but I'm sure you could contact them to find a retailer in your area and maybe get a price from them.

 

I'll probably stick to the eBay ones mainly because they're less expensive.

 

I have a low only kit on my Ranger and i run 6000k for light and slight color. 4300k is white white. 6000k is white blue.

Now i got my kit from vvme.com. 68 dollars shipped i think.

Trevor, Shane, anyone? I need some opinions on the bi-xenon kits. I just don't think I want to lose the high beam function.

the high beam is aimed pretty high for some reason.. doesn't really bother me because when i hit the hi-beams it lights up the freeway signs perfectly hahaha

 

Well I do know that the random inspections here in Ohio require high beams otherwise you get a fix it ticket. That's one of the few reason I want the high beam.

well are you sure the HID's themselves are legal in Ohio? In California, I believe retrofitted HID kits are illegal.. but we don't have random inspections.
If they are legal, then the bi-kit is the way to go because you'll pass.

I'm not sure if they're completely legal, but the color temperature I plan to go with isn't too crazy. Hispanics run around here all the time with crappy aimed HID's in reflector housing and I've never heard of them getting pulled over. I work with a state trooper and I'm friend with a bunch of local policemen.

EDIT: Just read through the vehicle portion of the Ohio Revised Code. No mention to HID lights, but the headlights must be aimed so they don't produce too much glare for oncoming vehicles. Obviously I can correct that by aiming them.

Also the light must be visible 1000 feet away. Not a problem.

The vehicle must have high and low beams. Also the vehicle must have an indicator to which beams are lit.

 

To furrther your answer: HID kits are not legal in ANY state unless they came stock on the vehicle. Any not factory lighting is considered ILLEGAL. But most states wont give you a hassle if your lights arent super blue or purple.

buy a low kit and when you do inspection swap in your halogens for the test then take em back out.
