Switching up my exhausts, going back to a single

Hey guys, truck currently has dual pipes out the back. One needs some repair work, but i think im ready for something different. Thinking about bringing one pipe out the side, kind of similar to factory. The thing is, i dont really want it too looking like the factory one. I want it to have a tip on it still or something. Anyone have and examples on ideas?

It's real easy to make it not look stock.

My first exhaust was single 2.5" from the cat back using a STUPID quiet Dynomax muffler. Later replaced with a then brand spankin' new Flowmaster Super 40. It was big back in the day for Rangers to have 3.5" tips, so I used a 2.5 in/18" long/3.5" angle cut tip tucked up nice and close to the bedside.

Here's some pics...

Thats not bad, i was kind of thinking about bringing it straight out the side, one though was to find a 45 degree chrome tip, which i seen online, and then have the pip at a 45, so once its all done it would 90 out the side, basically stock location, just would have a tip and would still be loud haha

To me, exiting 90* like the stock tailpipe is too much like the stock tailpipe....regardless of type of straight cut tip or tip size. If I were to do it again in a single, I would do a more mild slash cut (not 45*) with a more mild pipe exit angle. Sort of a mixture of what you typed above and what my old exhaust was.

Magnaflow has a number of really good looking tips in tons of sizes. Have your tip picked out or on-hand so the shop can build with the tip present. End results will be cleaner.

I might just stick with the tips that are on the truck now and do a mild angle as you described. Id like to see some pics of something like that lol.

Did a little bit of searching and it appears that the Magnaflow single system is very similar to as I'm describing. But get that tip tighter to the body. I always suggest a shop custom make a system...soooooo much cheaper. But stainless and/or pre-made stainless is worth it if you're in the rust belt.

I used a flex pipe, Hushpower resonator, Flowmaster 60 and a Magnaflow rear pipe all in SS, maybe overkill but it will never rust out and it killed the drone at highway speeds
