Really Weird Electrical Problem

Here is the culprit: 2000 Ranger XLT 4dr, 4x2, 3.0, Auto, 132k.

Here is the problem: Oil Pressure gage fluctuates, Over Drive light comes on at will, ABS light comes on at will, and Speedometer fluctuates. When the brakes are applies, there is a clicking from the relay under the hood and the brake pedal pulses with each click. When the right turn signal is applied, the speedometer drops to 0 with each blink. When the Cruise Control is on, if the right turn signal is used the Cruise Control is shut off.

These problems all started happening at the same time two days ago. I have not wired or modified anything in the truck in months. The only modifications are power leather buckets from a Mountaineer wired in junction with the cigarette lighter and an Infinity Basslink. I am sure that I have a relay problem or a short somewhere.

Ideas are welcome.

possibly 2 problems

your alternator is failing ,, or a charging system power is being grounded out
( i had the same problem , it was a charging system power wire that had the insulation ground off,, and it was grounding out to bare metal ( driver side inner fender well -steel )

Thanks for the advise. I'll check into that today.

I did run by AutoZone and have a code check performed. There were no codes showing any problem.

look in the driver side wheel well

Check these:
Ground G105 - passenger side inner fender
Ground G103 - driver side inner fender
Ground G201 - under passenger side kick panel

From under the truck, unscrew the center bolt to open the 40-pin connector directly below the driver seat. Check for water and/or corrosion inside.
