Cb in

Well after much procastinating, I dug out and old CB and antenna I had kickin around.
Mounted the antenna to the back bumper, ran Millitary spec RG-213 coax to the front.
Its a Solarcon 4' triple wound top load, tunable tip mounted on a set of ground planes, unsprung so it isn't floppin all over and scuffin the paint, Radio is a POS Cobra UltraII.
Tough to find decent mounting points for both the radio and antenna.
Drilled a hole big enuff for the PL-259 conector in the back of the tray so I could push the radio back as far as possible.
Just needed it for running escort when we're taking 12 wide trailers down the highway.

This will have to do until I can find either a Uniden 2510 or RCI 2950, which I used to run. Kinda directional but oh well, was talkin skip into Cali from here this afternoon, so its gettin out
Getting a 1.4 across the meter so it should be ok.
On a side note, I used to pump 2000 watts through this antenna with a Uniden 2519 for a radio, that was a kickin setup

Even with the manual you can get a CB behind it. Mount it too the plastic floor piece. I had my Cobra 18 WX ST II mounted back there on my 98. Was a lil tricky but it was outta the way. I will have to look to see if I got any pics of it mounted there.

Found it.......
