Electrical troubleshooting
I just put together my 99 project truck and have some electrical issues to sort out. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

1 fuel gauge stuck on full(possibly bad float?)
2 oil gauge stuck at no oil pressure(possibly bad sender?)
3 check gauge light on(?)
4 abs code 29(?)
other observations-no other issues
lights work
temp gauge works
tach and speedo work
no cel
runs good

Check gage is on because of no oil pressure.
Check wiring connection to the oil sender. It's just a switch, so you could short the sender connector pins together to simulate presssure. If that works, bad sender. If that doesn't work, check fuses (don't know which one).
Can't help ya with the ABS code.

The cel light is not on. I found the oil pressure problem. I changed the sender and that didn't fix it so I started tracing the harness and found a spot where the wires were wore thru, fixed the wires and no more check gauge and I have oil pressure. Advise to those with 3.0's, the harness makes a turn right beside the plug on top of the engine and that is where my wires were wore thru(body side of the plug). All thats left is the code 29 on the abs which I think is the seat belt plug but I tried unpluging and repluging to no avail.

ABS is the anti-lock brake system. The seat belts are part of the Passive Restraint Supplemental Airbag System. It sounds like you are confusing the two systems.

Normal Operation
The restraints control module (RCM) monitors the voltage at pins 10, 13 and 14 to determine if it is installed on the correct vehicle. If the RCM detects an incorrect voltage on any of these pins, it will store a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) C1414 in memory and flash a lamp fault code (LFC) 29 (or higher priority code if one exists) on the air bag indicator.
Possible Causes
An incorrect vehicle identification code could be caused by:
- an RCM installed on the wrong vehicle.
- an incorrectly programmed RCM.
- vehicle ID pins not connected as expected.
