CB install

I had a little Uniden pro 520 XL in the Ranger and decided I wanted to move it over the weekend. Not much else going on so I started surfing the web for other mounting ideas. I had it under the dash and since it was so small, It was out of the way but it wasn't the clean install I was looking for.

I purchased a Cobra 18 WX ST II from a local truck stop. I don't need all the bells and whistles of a full size CB and for as often as I use it, this little guy would be fine. Plus I had an idea where I wanted to put it.

It "claims" to be a single DIN unit. Not exactly. So I had to do some minor fabricating to the CD player chassis and the install kit. I'm really happy with the final results and just thought I'd share a few pictures for anyone still looking for a good mounting spot.

For reference, I used the Scosche double DIN install kit model FD3090. Can usually be found at Wal Mart. I did have to do some grinding with a Dremel to the radio bezel and mounting brackets to make it work.

Thanks
Yea it came out pretty well. I had to sit and stare at it for awhile to figure out how I was going to do it lol But I'm happy with the results. I figured I'd post it in case anyone was looking for a mounting location for a CB or wanted to PM me any questions. Your CB is only as good as your antenna system though. That's next on the list to get an overhaul.
