Motor tear down tips?
My 00 threw a rod last week :(
So I have decided to rebuild it slowly with my Grandfather. He pretty much knows what he is doing. He used to do this a lot in his younger days. I am buying a 98 Ranger on Friday so I'm not bent on time.
But I'm looking for tips. Anything I should pay extra attention to. Anything you guys recommend I do extra while I have it torn down. I'm going to work on the tranny a little too. I want to put a new clutch in and maybe some real work on it.
but anyways, tips?

I use plano storage boxes to keep track of hardware. Keep it very clean. Make sure you clean all gasket surfaces very well. If you don't want to worry about leaks, use this for your silicon, http://www.permatex.com/brand_right_stuff.htm That stuff is beast
