Chasing a wiring problem

When testing wires for power, ground, etc, what is best way test when can’t test the pin/plug? Strip a little plastic? Is there a tool that will help? Any tips would be appreciated

A sewing needle works just fine

I had a set like these a long time ago:
Amazon Amazon

but they broke over time and I just soldered needles to probes as needed

You can just get some straight pins and poke them in the wires you want to test and then test them one at a time, the holes they make are too small to damage the wire or insulation on that wire, just don't put the pins in the wires where the pins can short together, lol, just have to say it

Thank you sir. Chasing fuel pump power on my full size “ranger”. I got chastised on another forum for those for making a typo and not being an expert. So I will ask here general questions when I’m stumped. This is a great place!!!!!

Yes, there are "trolls" everywhere
One take away is that people like that are for sure insecure and most likely have been chastised themselves most of their lives, so grain of salt on their misery

And yes, this is a great place :)
