Rear view mirror

I want to R & R stock rear view mirror on '11 Ranger. Need instructions to remove mirror from mount.

I think the bottom is supposed to bend up and slide down, but when I tried, I broke a chunk off my windshield and had to get a new one, so don't be too forceful.
