led ground lights

i was at auto zone the other day and picked up some red led light to go inbetween the bumper and tailgate and wile i was looking i saw some ground lights that mound under the truck to see where ur steping. i know someone had something like this i think WINKS. but i was interested but they were blue and i was thinking on getting them.

is there anything that i can tap into that will turn them on when i unlock my door w/remote and then whut off when i close door? i was thinking about the dome light but blue is illeagle so if i have my map lights on at night it will look like ground affects. might have to do that tho.

thanx

Nick, I would not reccomend them. Mine went dead after about the first month. They got water in them and then they were shot.

EDIT: If you do get them, they are turned on by a negative switch, not a positive, so connecting them to work properly may be an issue.

i wired mine to the blinkers.. but i had the LED's thought they were a waste.. had them on the inside for awhile.. then jsut went to neon tubes instead.. the outside ones are detachable wired to a toggle switch to parking lights and are held on with 3M velcro so i can take them off for hunting and mudding so they dont get shattered. insides are jsut short tubes that work individually with the blinkers.. pretty sweet i think and the schladies tend to like it..
