Clicking sound from steering column when turn signal is on
 

I have a 94' Ranger and whenever the turn signal is on, it clicks every time the steering wheel makes a 180-degree rotation. For example, making a hard right turn, turn the wheel *click*, keep turning the wheel *click*, go and straighten the wheel out *click*, and it continues every rotation until the turn signal shuts off. Is this a normal Ranger thing or is there something that needs fixin'? I've never heard of a vehicle clicking more than once when the signal is on. It's very frustrating, any help is greatly appreciated.

Its normal in all vehicles with turn signals that have automatic off/return

Your multi-function switch may just have a louder arm return, might be replacement 3rd party switch

Under the steering wheel is a plate with 8 to 10 pegs space out evenly over 360deg, pointed down the column
The turn signal stalk has an arm that will stick out when you turn on the signal
When you are turning the steering wheel in the direction of the turn, the Pegs hit the arm but don't move it, when your turn the wheel in the opposite direction the first peg should hook the arm and turn off the signal as turn signal stalk returns to neutral position, automatic off
