Clutch Issues please help!!

Hi everybody, I have a 2000 Ranger 4x4 3.0 v6 that recently the clutch pedal goes straight to the floor with no resistance. I can not shift from neutral while motor is running. I've replaced the shave cylinder and the master is not leaking inside of truck. If I try to press the pedal down while slave is disconnected the pedal is impossible to move but as soon as I connect slave it goes straight to floor again. Could this be the hydraulic line and it's connector causing my problem? Also the reservoir does not seem to be getting any lower even when I crack the bleeder valve and get fluid from the slave.

Welcome to the forum

Open the bleeder with a pan down under it
You should get a slow flow of fluid(or air) as it Gravity bleeds from the reservoir

Yes, with Slave disconnected the valve inside the Master hose closes, so pedal should not move, this also means the Master piston is OK, seals are OK

The slave has the throwout bearing on the end, it is pressed against the Pressure Plate's "finger" springs, these finger springs are the resistance you feel when you press down connected clutch pedal
Did you replace the pressure plate and did new slave come with throwout bearing attached, most do, but some do not, and no pedal resistance without throwout bearing because slave end is not touching pressure plate fingers

Standard pressure plate seen here: https://ic.carid.com/sachs/items/3082654412_3.jpg
When transmission is installed the throwout bearing should be pressed against the center of the "fingers"

Self-adjusting pressure plate seen here: https://s3.amazonaws.com/rparts-site...419d57b45b.jpg
Has the 3 springs around the "fingers", these allow the plate of the pressure plate to move as the clutch disc wears down, so clutch pedal disengage and engage stays in the same place in pedal travel
On standard models the disengage and engage starts at the bottom of pedal travel with new clutch disc, then slowly comes up in pedal travel as disc wears down

Clutch issue

Yes the throw it bearing was attached to the slave. Also the shave I got was oem Ford part not AutoZone or whatever.
And no I didn't replace pressure plate. This was a definitely a "fine one minute and screwed the next" moment. Walked into the store and came out and pedal to the floor.

You will need a helper

Look here: https://www.asapnetwork.org/sites/de...?itok=W22Yh5Lh

Some M5R1 casting had the hole with a rubber plug in it below the slaves two hose holes
Pull out the plug and watch the slave as someone pushes the pedal down repeatedly

Slave should come out about 1/2" pushing the fingers in
If fingers are moving but no clutch use or no resistance then the pressure plate is bad
If slave is not moving then slave is bad, although I have never seen that without a BIG leak of fluid out the bell housing
