What is this part?!

Just bought a 2003 Ranger and noticed smoke coming from under the hood. When I popped the hood i noticed coolant spraying out of the pictured part. What part is this? Any idea of cost to replace? Thanks from a new member!

By-pass valve or Heat control valve.

It can be called either.
The black cylinder with the vacuum line opens and closes the valve based on the setting of the Heat controller inside the cab(cold---------hot)

Label the hoses or take good pictures before removing them because you WILL forget which one went where, lol.
