i was looking around my engine bay today and i seen that there is a plug disconnected that is on the brake master cylinder and i was wondering if anyone might know what it is for. and if i should worry about it.

 

As a safety precaution, the Ford dealer may have disconnected the Deactivation Switch from the master cylinder while they are waiting for the recall parts to arrive. Is it disconnected from the switch on the top front of the M/C?

 

o is it for the C.C. recall cause when i was getting my new tires put on the truck they told about a recall for the C.C. and i told them to do it that must be what it was they did. im gonna be going to the dealership tomorrow and asking them about it i just wanted to see if anyone on here might fo know what it was before i went there.

Hi mate. My uncle is also wondering what is that connector lying along the brake master cylinder of his vehicle and he was kinda worried because he just recently bought this vehicle as a second hand and it looks like it was part of the recall thing you are talking about. Well, we're just curious if there's a bad effect on the vehicle that we should be worry of?

 

Take it to a Ford dealer and have them run the VIN to see if it is part of the recall which applied to several years. For most years, there is a replacement switch and small patch harness that the dealer should install at no charge to you.
