Cruise control

My '99 isnt prewired for cruise control. How would I go about hooking up the factory cruise control? Would it be that hard to do if I pulled a cruise column out of a truck in the junkyard and the cruise motore and pigtail for it? Anyone ever done it before? I want the factory look so no aftermarket stuff. Thanks

Here's a thread that lists the parts that are needed. But instead of the 3.0 servo you will need the 2.5.

If you want I can send you in a PM the cruise control wiring circuit. You can then see how hard it would be to do.

Isn't there a cruise control throttle cable unit that you would need too? I don't know the technical term of it, but I'm pretty sure the throttle cable has to be connected to it.

There's nothing magical about wiring speed control. With the correct components and pigtails and a factory schematic for the truck's year, it could be done by adding a few wires. Ford's dealer installed speed control kits came with an overlay harness for the trucks that were not prewired but my guess is that it's not available separately.

Sure, I'll look at it.

I just didnt know if it would be hard to wire it all up if you got all of the components and the pigtails that used. I was reading that that is like a 10 pin plug or something. I guess I need a wiring diagram for the system.
