Cruise Control
Cruise Control
I bought a 2005 Ford Ranger 4X4, 4.0 V6, Auto transmission, a couple weeks ago. It did NOT have cruise control. This makes the 4th Ranger I have had in 35 years. Like the truck and they've been dependable. My other 3 had cruise. I have already changed the steering column, I have the cruise control module installed. I need the wiring diagram, so I can hook it up. The inside of the cab was wired for cruise control, but apparently the engine compartment was not, since there is not a plug for the cruise module. Does anyone know where I can find a complete cruise control wiring schematic?
If you plan on keeping that truck for any amount of time, just buy this. It's the factory wiring diagram book for your truck. Very simple to read and follow along. I have one for each of my trucks and they're one of the most valuable tools I have.

Ford sends this out with the Shop Manual Sets to every dealer for every model every year
It used to be called the EVTM(electrical and vacuum troubleshooting manual) but now it just the Wiring Diagram manual

I bought the Wiring Diagram Manual for my 2005 Ranger, I got the cruise control wired up and working perfect. Even took a trip from Minnesota to Indiana, to visit friends and family. The cruise works like it was factory installed. Thanks for the advice, Fordzilla80 and RonD. I went to the Ford dealer in my town, asked about the manual. They said they could sell me a copy of it. But they wanted $149.95+ tax for it. I bought it on ebay for $15.
