Cruise Control cuts out Momentarily

Hello,

I have a 97' xlt 4x4 manual 4.0 ranger.

The cruise control does not work. I have tested the brake position sensor, the brake pressure sensor, the clutch position sensor, the ground, and the ignition pins. All sensors appear to be communicating with my cruise module correctly. I tested my cruise buttons and referenced them with a diagram to find the correct resistance values. My resume and set/acc buttons didn't seem to have the correct resistance values.

I have tested my buttons and many of the sensors by driving above 25 mph, and enabling cruise control. Cruise control doesn't engage and the dash light for cruise engaged only flashes, as if the buttons are acting as momentary push buttons. I tested my brake, clutch and speed sensors with the dash light, and the dash light does not flash when any of the sensors becomes false.

I don't understand why the light is only momentary and why my electric cruise is not being enabled.

Please help.
