Power window not working! Please help :(

So I purchased this 2004 Ford ranger and can not get my driver side window to work, the passenger one works fine as do my power mirrors, but for whatever reason when I click the button to put my driver side window down all that happens is I can hear the relay in the fuse panel clicking, I’ve changed the switch, the relay, the fuse, the motor, and the master switch... what else could be causing this? Please and thank you

Welcome to the forum

Mirrors and widows have no connection, just FYI

You need to get a Volt Meter or 12v test light

The drivers side and passenger side doors/windows have separate 12volt wires at the switches

The drivers side(master) switch is the Ground for both doors, so that's good if passenger door window works

Does passenger side window work from Master?
If not then master does not have 12volts with key on

There will be a Light Blue/black stripe wire on drivers door switch and it should have 12v with key ON

If it doesn't then you have a problem in the SJB(smart junction box), its the Body Computer, and no serviceable parts inside
But could be a connector issue on the SJB

First test the light blue/black wire and we can go from there

Worst case it you can power that wire, and redo a couple of wires in the door. and get windows working again just no "one touch" auto up and down

It does, I can roll the passenger window up and down from the master switch, but I will still take the panel off tomorrow and test out the wires going into the switch

Its read like an SJB issue

Here's the wiring diagram

The "click" is most likely the on-touch relay

Here are pictures of the SJB: https://www.therangerstation.com/tec...horn_mod.shtml

A connector maybe the problem, free to try, unhook each connector and have a look for corrosion, then reinstall and test window switch again

When you say connector you mean connector to the relay?

No, the relay is part of the SJB circuit board, but it connects to the truck via the connectors on the SJB

The SJB has several multi-wire connectors, you need to remove each one and have a look at the slots and pins, for corrosion, then put each back on, just removing and re-installing cleans the connections, maybe you will get lucky

Okay because I checked the light blue/black wire going into my master switch and I have 12v going into it with the car ON

That's good, but you knew that because you can use that switch to move the passenger side window

The drivers side window is the only one that needs a pathway thru the SJB

You could rewire it to take the SJB out of the pathway, but no one-touch of course

The white/black wire on switch(1) would be hooked directly to white/black on motor
The tan/light blue wire on switch(4, not 6) would need to be hooked to the Red motor wire
Assuming I am reading the diagram correctly, lol

Master window switch testing

I Have a 00 Ranger Ex Cab. Pass window works from both switches. But drivers window does not. Trying to pin down culprit. And im also interested in steps to bypass 1 touch feature and make the switch momentary on/off/momentary on. If thats not correct wording. Just have to hold switch down or up to get window down or up

I would replace the switch first, drivers side gets used the most so it usually fails first

One touch can be by-passed but rarely fails, switch issue is more common
