1997 ranger headlights

Hi all! Just bought my 1997 ranger two days ago and just noticed that the low and high beams don't work only the yellow blinkers work. So how can I pinpoint the problem? Would it most likely be the headlights themselves, the dashboard switch, or a fuse? Maybe even something else. I've tried to search around but didn't find anything helpful. Thank you

First step would be to check the headlight bulbs.

Break out your multimeter, and check the sockets for voltage, then check your headlight switch. If you are getting voltage To the switch, but not your light sockets, you can replace the switch, only runs about $30.00, and takes about 15 min to do.
