damned ABS, battery and Brake lights always on!
 

Ever since I did the LED install, these lights are always on... I have tried pulling fuses and letting the truck sit for a day w/ the battery disconnected.. no dice. I get NO codes either!

For the battery light, looking at the t/s-ing tree on the ford cd, it points to the alt, the voltage regulator or wiring.

the one that's making me mad is the abs/ brake light! According to the tech manual "The RABS II uses the yellow ABS warning indicator and under some conditions the red BRAKE warning indicator to alert the driver to a system malfunction. Both indicators must be working properly to assist in diagnosis. The steps below must be followed prior to beginning the RABS II diagnostic procedure." Both lights work, its just that no matter what the brake light comes on dimly if I unplug any abs/brake sensor/switch...

Now, If I unplug the parking brake sensor, the light stays on dim... leading me to think it's a wiring issue of sorts... I'm thinking the diode in the system took a dump... but I'm not seeing it as being stocked at any local parts store. There's another diode in the power center under the hood... but I'm not 100% what system it belongs to, so I'm hesitant to just swap it.

Here's the system... Any ideas/suggestions?

If this happened right after the LED install , I'd be checking the polarity of the LED's.Unlike a regular lamp these only conduct current in one direction.You might have gotten one mislabled from the supplier.Try the brake lamp first.Remember LED stands for Light Emitting Diode.

The dim brake light issue happened before the LED install, so it's not really related. :(

I know the LED's went in the correct way, as I checked their polarity with my meter.

I'm thinking its the diode in the system shorted out causing my problem..

And I know what LED stands for ;)

Does the brake light go out if you disconnect the fluid level switch? If it does,I might suspect a partial short in the ignition switch wiper.Or maybe some brake fluid got into the level switch.

Yeah, I did that too.. No dice. :(
I'll end up looking at it closer this sunday when I have time to mess with it some more.
