Added a new ranger to the family, have a question about a issue

Hi, so when I joined this site I had a 87 i bought and fixed up but had to sell it when the motor died. I had missed my truck so much and wanted to buy another one but couldn't find a good one for a good price or without it being a basket case, until last week i wasn't even looking for one but I bought another one and I love it even more than my 87. The new one is a 92 gold xlt super cab 2wd with the 2.3 8 spark plug engine, 5spd. I Saved this truck from certain death as it was totaled in a small fender bender because the fender and bumper were to cost more to fix than the truck was worth to the insurance company. anyways new bumper, pulled out the dented lower grille, and fixed the fender this truck is perfect. However the issue im having is every once in awhile the e-brake light and the rear anti lock light both light up and stay on during the duration of the drive. these lights go off when I turn truck off and sometimes don't turn back on but every now and then they come on? what could be casuing this issue?

This is cause by the unfortunate fact that this truck has ABS. pull the ABS fuse, then pull the light in the dash. Problem solved, no ABS and no bs ABS light to bug you.

lol

well is there a sensor? or part that is causing this to come on? in my dodge these two lights either meant a speed sensor wen out or the brake pedal switch went out. does this truck have anything similar?

Likely so, personally I like driving my vehicle not letting a computer do it for me so the few vehicles I've had with ABS I immediately pull the fuse so I dont have to worry about it sending me into a ditch again.(ABS put me in a ditch once, that was enough of that)

How the hell did abs send you into a ditch....

Traction control I can see causing issues, but abs? Really? C'mon now...

Attempted to slow down slightly before a corner, abs went ape **** and it wouldnt accept anything I was doing to the brake pedal. thus the road turned, i did not. straight into the ditch i went.

My ranger with no abs I've been driving for 10 years if far worse weather and never had a single issue.

ABS doesn't lockup your wheels, you turn the week the truck will turn...

And lol @ slow down slightly. ABS won't kick in unless you slow down suddenly. Either your a shitty driver or something is wrong with your ABS system.

1. I never said it locked up

2. Considering I've never had an accident, ticket, or any other issues besides that one time I'd say I'm a pretty good driver.

3. ABS is not the whirlwind of awesomeness that you seem to think it was. New ABS may be better but older versions of ABS will kick in in the slightest bit of slipping and it will cause problems.
