Disable daytime running lights?
Anyone know how? I have Hids and they don't like each other. I cannot find a fuse so Im guessing its a junction box? Anyone know where this is located?

My 01 Edge had a relay or module behind the drivers side of the front bumper. Above the fog light, closer to the headlight. I just removed the wiring harness that went to the little box and the wrapped the end of the harness with plastic and electrical tape. DRL's get in the way with the fog light mod too. Now you'll be able to drive with just your park lamps on, or park lamps with the fogs.

I have an 05, as far as I learned your easy way is not possible. They put them in the sjb.

Use a relay that leaves the headlight positive wire open unless the switch is on.

you better re-connect that drl connector if the ministry catches you disabling the DRL ,, they will heavily fine you they are installed on your ranger for a reason ( highway traffic act ) |

I corrected a possible issue.....I didn't replace it, but rather eliminated the issue all together. It's been that way since 2004 and never been bothered about it. Big brother isn't out to get you. LOL Thanks for the love. |
So does anyone have an answer for this? There has to be an easy way. Jp7 might have one, but is there others?
|
I did a SEARCH on here, and from what I seen, there is no EASY way to disable the DRL's in the 2004+ years.
Seems Ford got smart. |

I've noticed that you've pointed out the Ministry of Transportation in other threads. Put down the pom-poms already.

LOL Thanks for the love. in the last several months several police forces have had to deal with drivers who think that there active DRL`s are acceptable for night time driving ( no rear lights illuminated ) hell i almost rear ended a driver in a snow storm , i saw the vehicle at the last second |
