Do i have LSD

From my understanding, the 4.10s are LSD. (am i wrong.) W/O looking at my axle, can neone tell me if i have LSD. Im under the assumption that i do, but im a little confused now...because it says 4.10 regular axle. below is a link to the window sticker:

Did you look at the sticker that on the door when you open it up, look at the axle code and tell us what it says.

Look on your door sticker under axle could. If it says R7 you have a 4.10 LS if it says 97 you have a open 4.10

Look on the axle tag too....it'll say 4L10 (lmited slip) or 4 10(open). Or jack the rear end off the ground, truck in neutral p-brake off, and spin a tire. if the other side spins the same way your spinning the tire, you've got LS. if it goes opposite of the one your spinning, it's open.

Mine has 3.73s and open.

I would much rather be in your position. I would also rather be locked than geared properly. 1 wheel peel ftl.

Feels like you have way more power. 33's+ w/ 3.55's is a no no

Mine has a 97 axle code as well. Still feel lucky considering mine is a bare bones reg cab edge w/ NO options

Thanks! i'm not planning on lifting my truck or putting big wheels on it. would it still be worth my while to invest in 4.10s?

so far i have K&N and a cat back exhaust and plan on doing headers and pulleys when i have the cash.

Just keep your eyes peeled for a lunchbox type locker (Lock-Right, No-Slip, Aussie Locker, etc.) on ebay, craigslist, etc. They replace the spider gears in an open differential. More traction than an LSD, cheaper, and only takes about 4 hours to instal without any special tools.

I wish I had an open diff, I kinda do because the LSD is so worn out. If I did, there would be a lockright in there now. As it is, I have to find a new open carrier.

But for someone who drives their truck more on the road, and doesnt want a locker, then you cant beat the good factory L/S
