There is no hidden factory option to make this work.

The Central Security Module in 2001~2003 Rangers is the same P/N as some Sport Tracs which have Autolock. The problem is that the two vehicles are made in different plants and the CSM's are flashed at end-of-line for the available equipment each vehicle can have. Several of the features used in the Sport Trac flash are for functions that are not enabled in the Ranger CSM's because they are not needed. I suspect that this is true for the Autolock feature but I don't know for sure.

Assuming that the Ranger CSM is Autolock capable (large assumption), you would need inputs to the CSM connector from the Brake Pedal Position switch and the reverse light circuit. Both of those inputs are required to activate Autolock when the transmission lever is moved away from the PARK position. Autolock is intended only for automatic transmission vehicles only.

If you found a knowledgeable tech at a dealer, he could reconfigure a Ranger 01~03 CSM to Sport Trac spec using a dealer NGS+ tool. I had to change a hexadecimal entry in my Ranger CSM to convert it to a Sport Trac CSM when I added the Taurus keypad entry. So my CSM is Autolock ready now. Since my Ranger has a manual trans, I would need to find a different way to trigger it.
