Icon4 2008 Ford Ranger CM HELP!

I own a 2008 ford ranger sport v6 4.0 . Apparently the way my 4x4 is acting I am suppose to replace the module. I have purchased the module, but I cant seem to locate where they have hidden it. I know my 2000 was behind the kick plate on the passenger side. PRESUMED this is where it might be, but I didnt see it. Could it be behind the radio? IF so do I need to take the radio out to change it. I apologize in advance if this has been posted before. I searched and didnt see anything pertaining.

On the older rangers the 4x4 was controlled by the gem module behind the radio. I doubt yours will be there. Rather then fix mine once it broke I just went 1354m, but they are rather hard to find also. I'm not really sure about the newer models but I've heard that's where they moved it to after 01 or something like that.

how long since you drained the transfer case fluid and added fresh fluid

my transfer case is doing the same thing , but i will be adding duralube to the transfer case fluid

heck even the mazda dealership mechanic recommends duralube for the transfer case

( where the front driveshaft exits on the transfer case is where all the grit rests , not to mention where the 4x4 shift collar is )

you will probably have to do a drain and flush before you add the good fluid

when you put drain plug back in , pour the dualube in 1st

make sure that the duralube is the 346ML bottle , not the 946ML bottle

Thanks again cheese man will do that for sure. The electronic switch started acting funky 3rd year. IT SLOWLY getting worse where it you have to play abit getting it back out especially 4 low. I want to have it all fixed before spring. I dont want to get stuck out in the bush while getting winter firewood.
