alarm install

I'm installing an alarm made by compustar in my 02 ford ranger and this thing is confusing. Does anyone know any good guides to installing remote starters and or alarms? Does anyone have knowledge in this area?

I have most of the basics connected since I did buy two guides on how to install it but there are some parts that are vague. Maybe if I asked where to find certain things would someone know some answers?

on the compustar diagram it lists that I need to connect these items:

light output (-)
status output (-)
ignition output (-)
accessory output (-)
starter output (-)

And then there is a series of sensing :

E-brake sensing (-)
Hood sensing (-)
Brake sensing (+)
Door Sensing (-)
Door sensing (+)

Where in the ranger do I hook these up( 02 xlt super cab)

also there is a second pulse unlock that I need to connect (-)

Parking Lights+ brown headlight switch or GEM
Ignition lt. green/purple + ignition harness
Accessory gray/yellow + ignition harness
Starter red/lt. blue + ignition harness

Brake Wire lt. green + brake pedal switch
Hood sense wire hook up a pin switch

for the door triggers pop off your dome light and see what color the wire is and try and catch it in the side panels.

I take no responsibility if you mess something up....just had to cover my booty.

you should have someone install it if your unsure what yoru doing alot can go wrong with these things

They are made for sensing, such as they just need to recieve a signal when what ever they are hooked up to is used. If they were on the positive they would always be getting a signal that whatever they are on is used. When an item that turns on and off is actually being used I believe the negative recieves some type of power that tells the signal wire. Such as the door ajar light is on so the negative gets power run through it and the two way remote is told the door is open. Does that make sense?

shouldnt matter cuz some cars have positive and come have negatives depends on the vehicle. Thats information directly from DEI's vender tech site. It only lists + no negatives are showing on the schematics

aarghhh......you need to go to a shop....those negative accessory ignition and starter outputs are for additional relays......you may or may not need them.....in your year truck you may have to use the (-)accesory output to activate a relay that engages your second accessrory wire at the ignition harness.....im assuming you hooked up all your primary leads? (heavy gauge wiring) the truck will start if you dont use this wire but it wont operate properly while under remote start and you may end up throwing a code

wow best of luck to u on this one. wish i could b more help to you...i had a hard time with my alarm ... one thing i did notice tht most of the diagrams online for rangers are diffrent from the real set up.. be careful some wires start one color and run right into a diffrent one....
for doors i ran the wires to the dome light.. might want to try tht...

i still havent figure out my remote start all i have to do left is install the bypass kit.. i think.. that is the tricky part....
