I just installed a remote start/alarm and I can't modify those yellow/black and grey/red wires otherwise it will mess up my alarm, is there any other thing i can do?

^^ I agree

That or if you cant figure it out at all take it to a local audio video store that does installations. Those guys are genius. My buddy Aaron C. works there and the Navy hires him and sends him downsouth to do electrical work.

You can do this:

https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...ad.php?t=19970

It allows you to use a pushbutton to turn off the chime when you have the driver door open and the key in the ignition (ACC position). If you close the door or move the ignition switch away from ACC, it will revert automatically to the normal factory chime operation.

This should not cause any problems with the alarm or remote start. It simply interrupts the driver door ajar ground signal so the GEM does not chime in ACC - effectively the same as closing the driver door.

Wow, I like that idea. the door dinger is so annoying when you're trying to work and need the door open.

I agree with Aaron. take it to an electronics shop. not bestbuy though! they don't know a car alarm from the stereo headunits they carry in the showrooms

hmmm good idea for another day of truck mod'n but for now the turn the door latch with a screw driver works. I guess I should still take the time to pray to my shrine o' bob for such a great mod.
