Door switches are screwy

Hey guys.. Ive got an 03 Edge with the 4 doors. Ive searched the forums trying to figure out my problem with my sticking switches. Ive sprayed them with some penetrating oil and it helped the situation abit but I still find that if I slam the door too hard the dome light stays on and the 'door ajar' lites up on the dash but if I close the door softly it works perfect. ive also noticed that while im driving the 'door ajar' lites up on the dash typically when im making a turn. Now, my question is do you guys think the switch is completely screwed or what ? i just got the truck 4 days ago and the dealership replaced the passenger side door switch before I picked it up .. do you think he could have replaced the wrong switch or something ? I dont know .. your the pros so help me out man .. thanks

Odd, mine has started doing on my Pass. Side. The Overhead will turn off, but 'Door Ajar' remains on. I was just going to unhook the wire for that side, but I think You would want to have the light come on when the Driver door is opened.

I'm guessing the drivers side switch is going bad or maybe a loose mount or connections.

spray the latch mechanism with some penentrating oil. Its not the switches. the door ajar sensor is located within the latch mechanism. after spraying with penetrating oil, spray some white lithium grease to keep everything lubed

Im in the process now of trying to figure out how hard it is to replace the door trigger aka the ajar sensor...
