Boosting radio reception...how?

I got rid of my Sirius because I only listened to one station mostly. I started getting sick of my CD's and was flipping through the radio stations. I found a couple good stations I liked and set my channels. The next day those channels wouldn't come in. The day after they came in clear. Off and on like that everyday.

I have an aftermarket pioneer HU, not sure if that makes a difference...short of going back to Sirius is there any way I can get a better, clearer radio reception? Better antenna? or what?

Double check where the antenna cable plugs into the unit.It should go in snug. Also check the cable for kinks. The center lead is usually solid copper,it doesn't take much to break it.Antenna screwed tight in the mount?

Your better off making sure the antenna is hooked up properly first. There isn't much you can do to boost it that will make a worthwhile difference.

I think you guys may be right....I had taken the HU out a few times when I installed my Sirius and then removed it. It may have loosened the wires. It also may explain why my display turns off sometimes on its own, lol.

This also gives me an excuse to install my HU ipod adapter that has been sitting in a box in my truck for 4 months.
