Dynomax 17315

First off, I know my truck is dirty, and yes, a bird did manage to somehow crap on the inside part of my wheel.

I got an early birthday present today from my fiance, a Dynomax catback for my 2007 Level II. It wasn't really a surprise as I ordered it myself 3 weeks ago from work... but I figured I'd put up some pics and vids as I couldn't find too many good clips when I was trying to decide what system I wanted.

Unlike what most people have posted, this system is definitely louder than the factory exhaust, but not by a whole lot. I'm extremely happy with it, it looks good, sounds good, and isn't loud or annoying. It's slight louder and deeper at startup, idle and while accelerating but you cannot tell the difference at highway speeds. Plus you lucky Americans get the $75 rebate from Dynomax that isn't available to us here.... I think I might try it still.. lol

Anyways... here are the pics and vids!

Sounds and looks good. Just beware, a few winters on it and it's going to be in bad shape. I just took mine off, I had the same kit. The muffler had cracked down the middle on the bottom.

I'm not too worried about it, lifetime warranty on the muffler. When it goes I just order another one and swap them out, and the pipes themselves are cheap enough.

Yeah, I just got impatient with warranties so I replaced it with something else.

Hey i just ordered from JEGS this exact kit 17315 and they sent me 39315. Before i ordered this catback they told me, they being JEGS that the 17315 kit is being replaced with the 39315. BUT what the cool part is, that they only charged me for the 17315. Grand total was $195.44 A huge tip on putting a catback on is go ahead and buy new exhaust flange bolts. I broke both mine off and had to go get news ones from Advance Auto. Man, the flange bolts ( the bolt with the spring on it) only cost for a pair i think was under ten bucks, just do it. Lucky for me, i live about two miles away from the part store so i didnt have to drive my truck w/o any catback too far. Second big tip is go ahead and jack your truck up but put your stands on your frame so when you pull your factory catback out, you can keep it as a whole unit and not cut it to get it out. Trust me, when you go to sell your truck, its worth more stock. Thats why i kept my exhaust manifolds, factory air intake and my old catback. Anyway, review on the 39315...the muffler is shiny...once all the BS with the bolts was over (if your part store doesnt carry the OE flange kit, just buy a 2 inch 3/8 nut and bolt) the whole process was maybe five minutes. I start the truck up and it sounds factory...rev it up....sounds factory...take it for a VERY mild drive and it sounds real nice. No popping, its not that loud and i think it even runs better. I noticed the pedal feels alil lighter, the same feeling after you just changed a old fuel filter, maybe just me ANYWAY if you call JEGS they will tell you that 17315 is being replaced with the 39315 The difference between the two, Super turbo vs Ultro Flow and the ultro flow is stainless

i started with that kit... it was too mellow, plus i got damn tierd of hearing rocks ping my tail pipe changed it up, firstly i pulled the tail pipe and did a turn down and welded it fully, aside from the cat mount. mine came loose a few times and was rediculosly loud. plus i punched out the last cat that has no o2, and in my eyes, pointless... that deepened it up alot at start up and idle. good kit for the price. good fit too...aside from the muffler hanger.
