Emergency brake

Just installed the new cable, but I have to mash it all the way to the floor before it will work. I mean one click above the floor and nothing. It doesn't seem to be self adjusting. There is no slack under the truck cable is taught and when I removed the brake mech I oiled everything. Ideas?

You probably ned to adjust your drum brakes, if so equipped.

You will have to tighten the shoes in the rear, then adjust the cable if needed.

I'm an idiot. I didn't put the lower end in the keeper on the farm rail. Now it works halfway down. Thanks for the help though
