Engine high rpms with ac on

When im driving the truck with the ac on and I push in the clutch, the engine revs up to 500 to 1000 rpms higher. Example if its at 2000 rpm, push in clutch, engine goes to 2500 or 3000 for what seems like 3-4 seconds then kicks down. Ive tried tapping on the gas pedal to kick it down but it just revs higher. I cleaned the IAC valve, was a little better but then this last trip it was worse. Really annoying when im driving and shifting. Now I drive with the ac off, which sucks because I went 10 years with my old truck with no ac and I really like having it!

Now I can turn off the ac when it is doing this, and the engine goes to idle.

Any ideas would be great!

Thanks!
