Door locks problem
Hello all,
It's a 2000 XLT Ranger 4.0.
i have a weird problem with my door locks, it almost seems that there isn't enough power to move the locks up or down, please notice that, (sometimes) they work fine on the first try (lock or unlock) but if i keep pressing the lock/unlock button the locks move less and less until they don't move at all, like if they run out of juice.
I have to wait an hour maybe before this happens again, this happens on both doors. Engine running doesn't change a thing, all the electrical system in the truck works fine, so it's not a battery/alternator issue.
The locks were already like that when i bought the truck, i got 2 spare locks that i can use to replace mine, but i just find it weird that both locks went, and if they both were bad, they wouldn't work at all right?
I just thought about asking about this before replacing the locks.
thx all for any help in advance.

Could just be one of the door locks is drawing too much power, not both.
They both share same power.
And that can be a failure mode, electric solenoids can start to draw too much voltage, it should "feel" hot at that point, but if you can feel it then you are close enough to replace it, lol.
It looks like both are controlled at the same time as well, by either door button, so not sure how you could tell which one would be at fault
Check Fuse 18 in cab fuse box, should be 15amp, if previous owner replaced it with higher amp fuse then that's what the new solenoids are for, current solenoids were blowing that fuse
They both share same power.

And what have to done so far to correct it?
And you can't have "the same problem", you have a different truck so you can only have a "similar problem".
So you need to describe your similar problem
And since Gallo75 never posted an update we don't know how he fixed HIS problem
So help us help you
