Evaporator Replacement (A/C)

I have finally tracked my a/c leak in my 1992 to the evaporator core. Looking at the firewall, you can find the evaporator core box on the passenger side of the engine compartment. I sprayed a mixture of soap and water on the box and bubbles started just blowing out of the box, so apparently my core is leaking R-134 a lot.

Has anybody got experience in replacing the evaporator core? Seems to be simple(ish) but don't want to take a lot of stuff off that doesn't have to come off.
Thanks in advance.

I don't think simple would be the right word :)

But read here for instructions and diagrams: 1991 ford ranger: evaporator core..auto trans..two wheel drive

1991 will be the same as 1992

You do need to replace accumulator/drier, it is not an expensive part

Thanks, that looks good. I looked all over for just a good exploded diagram and I could've done the rest. But I appreciate the detailed instructions and diagrams, that's nice.

But yeah, I understand it'll be very time consuming, but not too hard I hope!
