Explorer Alternator

I hope you guys can help me out. Picked up a 130 amp alternator from an 00 Explorer SOHC 4.0 today to replace the alt in my 95 4.0 (ohv) ranger. I thought i read that it would be a simple swap, but have since realized I misread. The Ex alt has the main power wire, and two other wires. my current alt has the main power, 3 wires in a plug, and one other. any way to make it work? I didn't pay very much for the alt, so if it can't be done, no big deal.
