expo bezel wiring question

i picked up a few expo radion bezels up from the JY on monday and just found how to wire up the fog light switches. the question i have is would there be a way to wire up the rear window wiper switch to control lights?? i have a extra set of lights on my rear bumper i use for loading and unloadin the quads on the trailer when its dark and i also have the cargo lights in the third brake light.
what i was wanting to try to do it seems the rear wiper switch has 4 positions (off, 1, 2, and 3) and basicly serves no purpose on the ranger. i was gonna see if i could wire up 1 to the cargo light. 2 to my lights on my rear bumper and 3 have them all come on. is this even posible? i already have the rear lights wired up to a relay and a switch. i was just wanting a creative way to use the rear wiper switch on my newly aquired bezel.

No its not a switch like your thinking.

Each position has a different resistance. You can maybe run a single item off it. It would be better to find a new use for the space.

You can get a second fog switch and put it there... I have the diagram somewhere and have posted it several times... Search fog light wiring, it's a picture.

I have 2 OEM fog switches on my radio bezel... One for my factory fogs, and one for my PIAA's.

Your thinking of the square hole down low. The explorers have a wiper switch where the ranger has the second 12v outlet.

Oh gotcha, when I re-read it I realized he was asking about that switch, but left that post there just in case.... I don't thnk you can use that switch for anything other than a rear wiper... As said above the different speeds indicate a different resistiance going to the motor, allowing for more power for the higher speeds.

So if that's right, you could run some back up lights to it, and have them have different light output levels, kinda like a lamp that has different lighting settings...

the expo bezel i got has the rear wiper, defrost and fog light switch all on the right side. i already put a second fog light switch in there. quess ill find something to do with the wiper ****. i had thought about the amp thing but i dont have one.

now the backup light thing might work. does anyone know how one would go about wiring a set of lights to this switch??

These resistors are most likely 1/4 watt units. So putting any power through them will be a no no.

So you would need some sorta control circuit in place to work with switch. Its too much of a headache to reverse engineer, IMHO.

Find a new switch to live in the hole.

ill have to see what i can come up with. might just put a power point in there just like my stock bezel has. i know if i take away one of them ill kick myself in the butt cuz sometimes i do use both at the same time. one for the gps and one for chaging my cell. i already have a third power point set up with my xm radio that is iginition hot so i dont have to turn it on and off when i get in and out of the truck.

and i just realised that the lighter spot on the left side of this expo bezel i got is broken.
