expo console
so went to the local junk yard with a buddy to get some parts for him and ended up grabbing an expo ohc and termostat for myself for only 20 bucks.. lol we didnt even get what he needed.. will keep you guys updated with how the install goes...
just a note its the one with the sunroof swich found a couple with and without the switch and found the one with the switch to be better looking console... anyone have any ideas what i can use the switch for.... also i got the blue lens cover and green so we shall see which one i like better... |
There's a guy who wants the blue lens cover. Int the gym and can't look I up but if u are nice u should sell it to him for cheap +shipping!
|
i probably wont even use it... i dont plan on changing my interior lights to blue altho as nice as it is seems like too much work im happy enough with the green plus the 4200dvd i recently installed you can change the deck to match you dash lights so yea ill probably just stick with green
|
the blue lens i actually found in a mountainer and it turned out to be the exact same lense

install was pretty easy alot easier than i expected actually good thing i recently bought a dremel for doing the double din mod as i had to use it to cut two slots in the roof for the clips to fit..
|
only thing about it is on the right hand side in the back the tab that clips over the headliner to hold it up is broken so it kinda sags a tiny bit but you can barely tell ill prolly end up pulling it down and hot glueing the tab back together. i think i didnt it when i was pulling it out of the expo and the junk yard

looks nice

pretty sweet the ranger had the same exact hole that i removed the temp sensor from as the donor expo
|
That install is alot easier then what people make it out to be. Only sketchy part is cutting the roof

its not hard. just pay attn to the mesuremenst and template. its super easy. there are amazing how to's on here of frf. plus its not hard to find a head liner!
|
it was insanely easy and i didnt use a template i just held it up there made some marks and just started to cut with that one was a little easier to install i didnt take any pics but you dont need the huge bracket it was just a small flat bracket that screwed in in front and the back end of it had a lip that was held by the liner biggest pain was having to cut away some of the metal in the roof bracing for the clips to snap in all the way but no big deal if you have a dremel with cut off wheel
