Fog lights
Hey guys...Can I use the factory wireing and switch to run a pair of Cyber White lights by Navigator? Also is there any way to make the lights run without the head lights on? Any help is welcome.
Thanks |
They'll run w/the running lights on...They should work as long as they're around the oem 45watt mark I'd assume.

I don't have runnings lights...or do you mean when I turn the parking lights on? 55watts it says, I have all of the wiring but would rather use the factory wiring and switch so it's clean.

Running lights/parking lights...same difference =]
55 watts would be just fine. Some ppl run 65 watt replacement bulbs in the stock fog lights. |
ahh..succsess...All i need is connectors....btw, i have a 97 and the lights won't come on with the parking lights...oh well...I'll survive.

ah, sh*tty deal

Maybe there's a way to wire it up to work with the parking lights.

I'll snoop around with it today or tomorrow...see what I can finger out. Thanks guys

Well the best way to power any added lights is by using a relay.
Power for the new lights can then come directly from the battery for maximum voltage. The question than becomes what to trigger the relay with. The trigger could be any existing switch that provides 12 volts. If you want to run them with the headlights than use the headlamp power wire for a trigger. If you want to run the new lights without the headlamps than use a 12 volt switch that can be used independantly of the headlights..Perhaps the parking lights. Another option is a new switch powered from an accessory wire. |
